Grogan Graffam, P.C. said that Jason R. McLean joined the firm as an associate in the litigation practice group. Mr. McLean concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, civil litigation, insurance defense and professional liability. He received his bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Mr. McLean is a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. Prior to joining the firm, he was a law clerk for state Supreme Court Justice Debra Todd.

Frank G. Salpietro has been named head of the business and commercial litigation practice at Rothman Gordon. Mr. Salpietro, whose 26 years of work has centered on civil litigation and class-action lawsuits, will lead a group of seven attorneys.

Mr. Salpietro received his B.A. in political science from Emory University. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Review and received the Benjamin Teplitz Memorial Award for having the highest grades in his graduating class. He was also selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers In America in 2012.

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC has announced that Mark D. Tattoli, shareholder, joined its energy section in Pittsburgh. Mr. Tattoli has more than a decade of legal experience. His practice focuses on energy mergers and acquisitions and corporate transactions, and has negotiated and closed numerous acquisitions, divestitures and joint venture projects. He received his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from University of Notre Dame and his joint law degree and M.B.A. from the University of Texas.

Daniel H. Brean rejoined The Webb Law Firm after completing a yearlong clerkship with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit under Judge Jimmie V. Reyna. He assisted the court in its resolution of patent law issues. Mr. Brean is an intellectual property attorney with a physics background, experienced in patent litigation, working primarily with mechanical, electrical and software technologies. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in physics. He received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Legal Scholarship and the ABA-BNA Intellectual Property Law Award.

Russell Ober, chair of the business and tort litigation practice group of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP, was elected to the Allegheny County Bar Association Judiciary Committee for a three-year term. The committee is charged with evaluating all candidates for local, appellate and federal courts who reside in Allegheny County. Mr. Ober focuses his practice on the litigation of businesses and commercial disputes, and has been recognized as one of the best lawyers in the country in the fields of commercial litigation and product liability defense in Woodward/White Inc.'s The Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Ober graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Law School.

Fox Rothschild LLP's Pittsburgh office has expanded its intellectual property practice with the additions of intellectual property lawyer Brienne S. Terril and patent agent John R. Brancolini. Ms. Terril focuses her practice on patent prosecution and litigation across a range of technology areas, including computer security systems, encryption technologies and smart cards. She received her law degree from Wake Forest University and her Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, cum laude, from Bucknell University.

Mr. Brancolini helps clients obtain patents domestically and oversees international patent portfolios. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Robert J. Burnett of Houston Harbaugh has been elected to the board of the National Association of Royalty Owners Pennsylvania Chapter. Mr. Burnett's practice concentrates on the oil and gas industry, representing landowners and gas producers in an array of energy matters. He earned his law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law and he received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from John Carroll University.
