Pittsburgh police arrest two in South Side car break-ins - Pittsburgh Post Gazette

Two men were arrested early today after police said they were caught breaking into cars on the South Side and carrying stolen goods.

Wayne Anthony Leviege Jr., 19, of the Hill District, and Dwayne Lee Cash, 18, of the North Side, are both charged with three misdemeanor counts of car theft and misdemeanor conspiracy.

In a press release, Pittsburgh police said patrolling officers caught Mr. Leviege and Mr. Cash breaking into cars near the intersection of McKean and Second streets.

Police chased the pair to the Exxon station at First and East Carson streets and apprehended them there at around 12:45 a.m.

They found them with three cell phones, a BB gun, a laptop and a purse with credit cards, all of which had been stolen from two cars in the parking lot, police said. A third car had a smashed window, police said.

Mr. Leviege and Mr. Cash face were in custody awaiting arraignment this morning.
