Pittsburgh police are reminding residents to be extra vigilant while they investigate a string of burglaries in Brookline.
Detectives in the burglary squad suspect that at least eight burglaries or attempted burglaries that have occurred in the neighborhood since mid-August are all connected, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said in a news release.
Many of the break-ins have occurred between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m., in many cases while people were at home asleep. The burglars have not been interacting with the residents but have been stealing electronics, cash and jewelry, Ms. Richard said.
Burglary detectives are reminding residents to lock their doors and windows, keep lights on outside and to call 911 if they see people acting suspiciously.
Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call the burglary squad at 412-323-7155.
